Dr. Post is the owner and CEO of Northwest Dental Group, graduating from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2003. She is dedicated to helping patients achieve their dream smiles and enjoys coaching her children in basketball and volunteering with organizations like the Ronald McDonald House.
Dr. Post has organized 15 years of Free Dental Days and mission trips to Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, successfully growing her practice from 30 new patients a year to over 400 per month, and an overall clientele base of 32,000. She is also active in professional groups, including the CEO mastermind group at the Scheduling Institute and C12.
Our Story
Northwest Dental Group has been a trusted name in dental care for families in Rochester for over 50 years. The practice was founded in 1963 by Dr. Rossi, a dentist from a small town outside of Rochester who also managed a family dairy farm. Dr. Rossi, along with three other innovative dentists, made several groundbreaking contributions, including being the first practice in town to employ a dental hygienist, sharing the cost of the office building and support staff, and introducing the use of a dairy pump for suction—making it the first of its kind in Minnesota dentistry.
In 2003, Dr. Katie Post took over as owner and leader of Northwest Dental Group. A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Dr. Post completed a general practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. Her passion for both art and dentistry allows her to help patients create their dream smiles. Under her leadership, Northwest Dental Group has continued to grow, remaining a trusted choice for families. Dr. Katie Post's journey in dentistry has been one of passion, perseverance, and purpose. From navigating the complexities of running a growing business to balancing patient care with leadership responsibilities, Dr. Post has faced—and overcome—the very obstacles many dental professionals encounter in their careers.
Through it all, she’s learned that growth isn’t a solo journey. It’s about surrounding yourself with the right people, embracing innovation, and continuously seeking ways to improve—not just as a dentist, but as a leader. This understanding has driven her to create the NW Mastermind Group, a community designed to give back to fellow DDSes who are navigating their unique journeys.
Dr. Post’s mission is simple: to empower other dental doctors and practice owners to achieve their fullest potential. She knows firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to grow a practice, to adapt to new challenges, and to find balance as both a clinician and a business owner. By sharing the insights and strategies that helped her transform Northwest Dental Group into a thriving practice, she hopes to make the path a little easier for others.
